Dive deep into reality and ourselves.
Jane is a 29 year old woman.
Jane lives alone in a flat that she bought after moving out of her parents house. Jane has recently split up with her boyfriend. Jane wants to be an artist who "communicates truth." through her work. Jane pushes people away unconsciously, despite longing for true connection. Jane constantly sabotages her creativity by doubting her abilities or ideas in comparison to others that she admires or is jealous of, despite her desire to express herself. Jane looks at herself in the mirror and hates what she sees, even though people tell her she is beautiful. Jane gets motivated and wants to change, she wants to be a 'better' person. Jane reads a self help book about accepting reality and herself, she tries to accept but finds that she can't. Jane cannot accept herself or reality because she has discovered that her ideas of herself and reality are just that; ideas. Jane discovers that all the ideas or thoughts she has about reality and herself are all in her head. Jane detaches herself from these ideas. Jane detaches herself from the emotions that are deeply entrenched and connected to these ideas. Jane realises the futility and folly of identifying with the ever changing stream of thought and subsequent emotion. Jane discovers that she is only a fictional character and exists entirely in your mind. You discover that you are a fictional character and exist entirely in your mind. You let go and you live. THE END.

An interesting thought experiment...
Imagine a computer. All the parts of that computer individually, ranging from the CPU, motherboard to the graphics card. If you were to compare who you are to that computer, which part would you essentially be? Would you be the CPU? The motherboard? Think on that for a moment and follow your thought process. What is it that powers the computer as a whole, what gives it life? Electricity. What if you are that electricity animating your body and mind? You are not the body or mind, but that which powers it. Where does that electricity come from? It is the product of a source of generation which sends the energy out through which it is then separated and focused into a single point. So if we used this electricity analogy when thinking about death, the life energy of a human being either leaves the body or dissipates like that of electricity when the power is turned off. I suppose the electricity is consumed by the process of powering the compliance. Maybe the life energy of a human being fades out with age in a similar way. So we think of ourselves as individuals? Yet the energy that animates us, which essentially is us, has no clear distinctive features in its separated parts and is always connected to the generative source. All electricity is the same and so all life energy is the same. It permeates everything alive and connects to the same source. Interesting indeed. But what about reality or life as a whole, inanimate objects included? Why is this all here? These are deep philosophical questions and ones that have fascinated the human race since the dawn of our species (Sounds like a line from Star Trek)! LIVE LONG AND PROSPER. Photo by Amanda De Vito - https://www.flickr.com/photos/-dust-bunny-/ What is your mind doing now? Take a moment to relax and see its purpose, its most fundamental mechanism. What is it? Observe as it reads the words on the screen, as it turns symbols into a sound or spoken word inside your mind. See that voice and do not judge it, do not label it, it is not you, it is just your mind executing one of its many incredible abilities.
All words, all concepts, all beliefs and all labels that have been given to the external and supposedly internal world are just that; labels. With those labels comes judgements. We are essentially taking that which is formless and giving it form. Without these labels and judgements our world seems to become one. Try looking at your hand for an extended time, notice what your mind does almost instantaneously as your eyes meet your hand. It labels your hand as "My hand." Why does this matter you may ask? How can this noticing be of any benefit to me? This is one of the most fundamental ways in which you are not seeing reality clearly. Reality is being constantly distorted by the concepts, beliefs, judgements and labels that you place on it. With the rise of VR, comes the rise of a realisation to those who are open to seeing it. You almost exclusively live in a virtual world where you are setting the parameters and creating limits on reality and subsequently yourself. Remove these limits by detaching yourself from your mind and from its labelling. See it for what it is; a tool and a way of navigating reality. Dis-identify from the machine and take off the VR glasses. See reality, yourself and every living thing in existence, hell - the universe as it is. The levels of this seeing raise as you dive deeper into reality. Each and every form is connected. The only division exists in your mind. |
