Dive deep into reality and ourselves.
Conversation and communication can seem limited in their scope at times, judgment and critical observations of others, ourselves or our lives in the form of complaints or slander. We have been given the gift of sending out a vibration into the world around us, having the power to directly influence the lives of others in a positive or negative way if we so choose; it's all based and depends on our intent. Our intention is what creates the energetic signature of the words that leave our mouths and are then interpreted by the mind across from, leading to them having an emotional reaction. This power that we have is something we often fail to see the significance and underestimate to our detriment as a species and as individuals. Our intention is usually to force or manipulate the world around us into submission. Zen Buddhists and many other spiritual practitioners have been using verbal communication to illicit a realisation in themselves and those that they teach; these are referred to as Zen koans.
These come in the form of stories, statements, dialogues or questions. An example of a question could be; "Who were you before you were born?" Depending on the nature of the individual and their intention as a listener they could come to a deep realisation with this question. A typical answer would be; "Nothing." Which could be considered correct, but ideally the listener would dive into deep contemplation of the question, it's ramifications and meaning. These Koans are designed to create a sense of doubt in the listener, a doubt if their individuality or ego. Once the doubt of their finite existence and its validity in the grander scheme of higher understanding is set alight it can open the mind of the individual and align them with a sense of bliss and pure understanding, a pure knowing of self without insistent thought or emotional intensity. Peace. I had a conversation with an incredible human being the other day on Skype and we came to a place of total realisation, which I have never experienced in all the years that I have been studying and 'seeking'. We guided each other with our insight in the moment and carefully and kindly reached an understanding of something greater, something I can never hope to describe in words. This showed me that we are impacted far more by our interactions than I initially thought and that I play a major part not only in the enlightenment of myself in this life but of others in an everyday sense. Every conversation I ever have is an opportunity to connect with the deeper part of our beings, the real us. Through connecting with the being of others I am connecting with the being in me.
